Lift Commissioning Guide
A start-to-finish checklist for installers to set up an empty lift, test every safety function, and complete a confident owner handoff.
Safety first
Keep the boat off the lift until every test passes
Keep people and tools clear, use a spotter, and keep the emergency power disconnect within reach. Do not use automatic movement during setup. Isolate power before opening any enclosure or changing wiring.
Before setup begins
- Remove the boat and keep the cradle, cables, motors, and travel path clear.
- Confirm the lift structure and mechanical equipment are fully installed and ready to move.
- Record the controller serial number and confirm the product label is present and readable.
- Confirm all required controls and safety equipment are physically installed.
- Close all electrical enclosures and make sure the emergency power disconnect is easy to reach before movement tests.

For X4.4, use the public X4.4 Lift Setup & Service Panel guide from start to finish. For X4.3 or board-level repair, sign in to Atlantis Central and use the matching authorized instructions.

Verify the installation matches the setup
Confirm the controller, power source, motor arrangement, controls, and stopping equipment match the installation documents before changing any setting.

Confirm movement direction
With a spotter and an empty lift, make a brief held movement in each direction. The actual lift direction must match the selected control.

Set up the installed stopping system
On X4.4, follow the position-sensor or physical-switch branch in the service-panel guide. Never select a software choice to substitute for missing hardware.

Save and test customer positions
If the lift supports stopping points or presets, establish them with the lift empty and verify each one from a safe approach.
Required safety tests

Stop on release
Test every installed manual control. The lift must stop when a held control is released or STOP is pressed.

Emergency stop
Demonstrate the installed emergency stop or power disconnect and confirm it stops movement as intended.

Upper and lower protection
Approach each stopping point slowly. Confirm the lift stops before unsafe travel and can move safely away from the stop.

Automatic movement
If equipped, test each preset or automatic destination with the lift empty and continuously observed.

Power restoration
After a controlled power interruption, confirm the lift remains stopped until a new movement request is made.

Warnings and faults
Confirm the lift is not released for use with an active safety warning, recurring reset, incorrect direction, or uncertain position.
Customer handoff
- Show the owner how to use each control and how to stop the lift in an emergency.
- Explain that the lift must remain in sight whenever it moves.
- Demonstrate the Atlantis Boater app and any enabled presets.
- Explain the normal ready, moving, attention, and fault indications.
- Provide the controller serial number, installer contact, service schedule, and warranty information.
- Record the installation date and completed safety-test results.
